The Fox River is one of the most recognizable cars in Chicago & North Western's business fleet, and now you can add this beautifully detailed business car to your own railroad. Originally built by Pullman-Standard in 1954 as a sleeper for the Canadian National Railway, the car served several railroads throughout its long and fascinating history before becoming part of Chicago & North Western's famous business train.
Each car features individually controllable lighting, including operational ditch lights, marker lights, spotlights, and fully illuminated interiors, bringing the model to life whether it's leading an inspection train or on display in your collection.
About the Prototype: Built in 1954 by Pullman-Standard for the Canadian National Railway, the car entered service as a sleeper and later continued operating under VIA Rail Canada until 1984. That same year, Milwaukee Rail Car transformed it into a theater and inspection car for the Chicago & North Western Railway. In 1985, C&NW officially purchased the car, renumbered it as No. 420, and named it Fox River after the river that flows through much of the railroad's Wisconsin territory.
